Here is some basic info to give you an idea of Do’s and Don’ts
Custom Regulations:
- Used Personal Effect items are duty-free if owned for more than six months and you are moving your primary or habitual residence to France.
- Students: If you are going to study to France, then they are also duty free but we would need an official attestation of attendance and your items need to be shipped within 1 month of your school’s registration date.
Documents Required:
- Passport.
- Original Visa/Residence/Work Permit if any.
- Certificate of Change of Residence gotten form the French Embassy/Consulate stating time lived abroad.
- Signed statement by customer certifying that has owned all items at least six months and has lived abroad for at least 1 year.
- Any works of art must come with a certificate of authenticity!
- Inventory must indicate detailed contents even of cartons.
- New Electrical appliances need to be listed separately with serial number invoice and brand name.
Prohibited items:
- Paint
- Cleaning Solvent
- Pornographic Material
- Firearms/Explosives/Ammunition
- Drugs / Narcotics
- Live Plants
- Animal Skin/Ivory/Protected animal products
